Kalaallit Nunaat Exhibition

These images were all shot over a four-week period from August through to September 2018.

My first week was spent on a 100-year-old sailing ship “Donna Wood” which sailed through Scoresbysund. Scoresbysund is the largest fjord system in the world located on the east coast of Greenland. I was 1 of 11 photographers aboard the ship for this amazing week-long photo adventure in one of the most remote parts of Greenland with our nearest settlement of Ittoqqortoormiit being 800km from its neighbouring town!

Located on the west coast of Greenland is Ilulissat, which was my next stop. This town is famous for its Icefjord which is a UNESCO world heritage site and apparently this is where the iceberg came from that sunk the doomed Titanic. Ilulissat has hiking trails all over, endless photo opportunities and the Icefjord only a stone’s throw from my accommodation. Ilulissat definitely did not disappoint! Simply stunning.

The capital city of Greenland is Nuuk, which is home to the only four sets of traffic lights in the entire country. This was my final stop. I visited the nearby ghost town of Qoornoq, aurora was clearly visible most nights and of course, photos were shot regularly.

I hope you enjoy viewing my images as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
